What Does İSG-KATİP Mean and What Is It Used For?

İSG-KATİPis a piece of software brought into service in 2012 by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security of the Republic of Turkey following the entry into force of Occupational Health and Safety Act no. 6331. The İSG-KATİP software works in integration with the 2019 e-Government system. The İSG-KATİP system allows the employment of occupational safety specialists, workplace physicians and other health personnel — all overseen by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security — to be monitored in an orderly way. This removes the need for inspections by occupational health and safety inspectors.

Every organisation involved in occupational health and safety services is included in the İSG-KATİP system. Tracking the training and internships of the organisations and OHS professionals registered in the system is also done through İSG-KATİP. Another procedure carried out through the İSG-KATİP system in 2019 is the appointment of occupational safety specialists and workplace physicians.

When Did İSG-KATİP Start?

Ministry of Labour and Social Security The İSG-KATİP system, brought into service by the Ministry, became available for use with the announcement made by the Ministry on 25 March 2013.

Some of the procedures that can be carried out through the İSG-KATİP application in 2019 are as follows:

• e-Declaration users registered in the company's social security (SGK) records will be able to log in to the İSG-KATİP system with their e-Government passwords
• The occupational safety specialist and workplace physician to be appointed within the company will be notified to the Ministry through the İSG-KATİP software
• Contracts for the occupational safety specialist and workplace physician selected using the İSG-KATİP system will also be approved online through the system
• Contracts previously approved and still running will be renewed through İSG-KATİP

The person authorised within the business for İSG-KATİP is the person who is the business representative according to social security records . That person can log in to the İSG-KATİP system with their e-Government password.

When Does İSG-KATİP Become Active?

How Is İSG-KATİP Used? 2019 Update

To use the İSG-KATİP system in 2019, the social security workplace registration number must be notified to the joint health and safety unit (OSGB) from which the service will be purchased. After this step, the OSGB must make the workplace appointment through the system. The employer must then log in to the İSG-KATİP system with their e-Government password and confirm that they are receiving OHS services from the OSGB. All of these steps are legally mandatory. If they are not carried out, the workplace may be regarded by the state as not having run its OHS processes and may be subject to penalties.

How Do You Log In to İSG-KATİP?

To log in to İSG-KATİP, the person shown as the company representative at the social security institution must hold an e-Government password. The e-Government password is obtained from a PTT branch. The steps to follow are then as follows:

• Log in to the İSG-KATİP system with your e-Government password.
• Click the "Service Recipient Workplace Module" section in the menu on the left.
• After clicking on the occupational safety specialist and workplace physician on the right, click the "Approve" button.

Completing these steps concludes the İSG-KATİP approval process.

How Do You Register with İSG-KATİP?

If the "Service Recipient Workplace Module" section does not open after you enter the İSG-KATİP application, it means the person who obtained the e-Government password is not shown as the company representative in social security records. In this case the company representative must apply to the SGK Registration Service by written petition and be appointed as the İSG-KATİP company representative .

How Is an İSG-KATİP Contract Created in 2019?

For the İSG-KATİP contract procedure, as with the approval procedure, the company representative needs to log in to the system. On the screen that opens after logging in, go to the contracts section. Then click the "New Record" button. Once these steps have been followed, the contract screen will open.

On the page that opens, select the İSG-KATİP contract type and the certificate type of the occupational safety specialist or workplace physician, and fill in the national ID number field. Once these steps are complete, İSG-KATİP will prepare the contract automatically. Once the contract has been prepared, all that remains is to click the "Save" button and log out of the İSG-KATİP system.

However, for the contract to be valid, the contract prepared by İSG-KATİP must be approved by the workplace physician or occupational safety specialist within 5 days. Otherwise the İSG-KATİP contract will be cancelled and will have to be prepared again.

How Is an İSG-KATİP Appointment Made?

To make an İSG-KATİP appointment in 2019, the company representative must first log in to the İSG-KATİP system using their national ID number and e-Government password. The steps to follow are then as follows:

1. On the page that opens, select the workplace for which you want to make the İSG-KATİP appointment from among the companies shown.
2. Click the "Log In" button.
3. Make and confirm your appointment of the workplace physician, the occupational safety specialist and, if required, auxiliary health personnel.
4. On the screen that appears, click the "Service Recipient Workplaces" field and carry out your İSG-KATİP approvals. Handle each İSG-KATİP approval one at a time. "
5. Once you see the word "Approved", log out of the system.
